I tested with 23&me. They said 3%Asian but admitted they don't know how to test for Native American in African Americans! Great Grandparent is actually quite close. Seems close to me anyway ;-)Kristinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06413795611563683135noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5454603795410144652.post-51890594165614826082012-02-05T19:05:30.493-08:002012-02-05T19:05:30.493-08:00I will be anxiously waiting with you to see if you...I will be anxiously waiting with you to see if your suspicions are confirmed.Kathy Reedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09417754385375586302noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5454603795410144652.post-69684545258688758132012-02-05T17:58:20.871-08:002012-02-05T17:58:20.871-08:00Hey Yvette, I don't know if you ever saw the s...Hey Yvette, I don't know if you ever saw the series African American Live 2. Everything that I have found so far about Native American Ancestry for my family seems to lead me to Tuscaroran, Neusiok or Mattemuskeet not Cherokee. Thanks for your comment.Andrea Kelleherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12711352023496985469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5454603795410144652.post-23598870693970335782012-02-02T19:26:32.817-08:002012-02-02T19:26:32.817-08:00For many African Americans from Craven County, NC ...For many African Americans from Craven County, NC claiming "Cherokee" or Indian ancestry, it is more likely to have been farther back than most realize, and linked to the Algonquin tribes who migrated from Canada and New York State. Some might be Tuscarora, Nusiok or Matamuskeet. Very unlikely to have any Cherokee blood. I was hoping Cedric would follow through on his free testing via 23andMe, but I'm still waiting...Debra Newton-Carterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05234528123525258645noreply@blogger.com
