A Very Special Message

 I came across this clip just this morning. It is from episode 3.14 of The Muppet Show and was featured in the documentary Sing Your Song, a film that tells the story of Harry Belafonte's life. This is a case when something found me at just the right time for me to fully understand and appreciate it's message. The song Mr. Belafonte sings here, reminds me of something Oprah Winfrey said during the closing episode of her daytime talk show.
"I've talked to nearly 30,000 people on this show, and all 30,000 had one thing in common: They all wanted validation. If I could reach through this television and sit on your sofa or sit on a stool in your kitchen right now, I would tell you that every single person you will ever meet shares that common desire. They want to know: 'Do you see me? Do you hear me? Does what I say mean anything to you?"

 So with so much craziness happening in the world as of late, I think perhaps we should all take a moment and acknowledge the people in our lives. Do you see them? Do you hear them? Does what they have to say mean anything to you?"

    I often wonder am I invisible? I'm standing here, hello? Does anybody see me? I get so discouraged sometimes and think why even try? Nobody's listening anyway. So this uplifts my spirits and makes me think. Even if. the entire world turn a deaf ear if I move just one soul in a host of millions to think, act, or do then I have accomplished my goal.

It's Been A Long Time

I wanted to say hello to everyone. I know it's been a long time since my last post. The world is in a much different space from when I last wrote on March 2nd. So am I. I hope and pray that all of you out there are safe and taking care of yourselves and your loved ones. My 23andMe Results!

I took full advantage and ordered a test for my husband as well as one for myself. Okay....Here We Go! LOL.

Okay, I finally did it. I have been on an incredibly journey over almost two years searching for my ancestors and I kept telling myself, I needed to document this. You need to write this information down and document the process, not only what I learned about the people who came before me, but how I felt as I made these discoveries. How this whole process has affected my life has been absolutely incredible. Until I started searching, I was under the impression that I would never know anything about my lineage beyond my grandparents.
