 Week 40 (October 1-7) – October: What ancestor has a birthday or anniversary in October?

 Here are a few of my ancestors who had October birthdays.

 Maternal great grandfather --Frank Linwood Bryant:  October 6, 1890

 Maternal 2nd great grandfather --Samuel Whitney:  October 1856

 Maternal 2nd great grandmother --Sarah Jane Harris Whitney: October 11, 1859

 Maternal great grandmother  --Carrie Ethel Whitney Harrison: October 11, 1897.

 My daughter and I have birthdays this week as well. Sending out Happy Birthday cheer to anyone else celebrating a birthday this month.

    October is a big birthday month for my grandchildren. Two of them,twins, were born on Oct. 11. I know my grandmothers were both born in March.

It's Been A Long Time

I wanted to say hello to everyone. I know it's been a long time since my last post. The world is in a much different space from when I last wrote on March 2nd. So am I. I hope and pray that all of you out there are safe and taking care of yourselves and your loved ones. Sorry that genealogy has kind of fallen by the wayside.  Please stay vigilant and wear your mask when you go out. Keep the hand sanitizer handy. Wash your hands. My 23andMe Results!

I took full advantage and ordered a test for my husband as well as one for myself. Well, my results came back late last week and I found them reaffirming and interesting all at the same time.  Image courtesy of 23andme Maternal Haplogroup Result: L3e3b In a prior post, My MtDNA Result Are Back! , I revealed the results of my first MtDNA test. I tested with FamilyTreeDNA last year and they determined that my Haplogroup was L3e3b. It was reassuring to see that 23andMe came up with the same result this time around. Okay....Here We Go! LOL.

Okay, I finally did it. I have been on an incredibly journey over almost two years searching for my ancestors and I kept telling myself, I needed to document this. You need to write this information down and document the process, not only what I learned about the people who came before me, but how I felt as I made these discoveries. How this whole process has affected my life has been absolutely incredible. Until I started searching, I was under the impression that I would never know anything about my lineage beyond my grandparents.
