One Lovely Blog Award --Thank You True A. Lewis


I want to send out a huge thank you out to fellow genealogy blogger and friend True A. Lewis of the wondeful blog NoTe's To MySeLf, for nominating my blog for this award. What a lovely surprise!  Okay, let's see ...share seven things about myself.

 1) I'm a stay at home mom who loves watching her babies growing up and oh man they are growing up way to fast. They are my joy and my heart my boy and girl and I am so very proud of them.

 2) Before becoming a mom I worked in retail sales for several years and then my last job out of the house was working for a call center that handled collections. Those years were an incredible time of self discovery. I worked with people of all different backgrounds and ages. It really just made it ever more clear to me that we are all just people trying to do the best we can in this life. At least that is the way it is for most of us. 

 3) One of my favorite things to do is to watch silly nonsense on Youtube with my best friend.

 4) We just signed up for Netflix two months ago and oh man my life will never be the same again. LOL. 

 5) I can't live without coffee. Good thing I married a man who sells the stuff. :) He's a wonderful husband and father too.

7) I am so very thankful that I started blogging and now am connected to this wonderful online genealogy family. Thank you to everyone who's read and supported my blog.

      Awe True you are so kind. Thank you so much :) I have to be careful with Netflix now. The way they automatically roll into the next episode of whatever show your watching is my downfall. I will sit thinking oh I'll just watch one episode...three hours later. LOL!

      I finally got caught up with Scandal. Everyone I knew kept telling me to watch Scandal so I got on board the train. Also, I binge watched The Blacklist and have been watching a few movies here and there. Oh yeah and The Walking Dead. I'll have to check out Parenthood

It's Been A Long Time

I wanted to say hello to everyone. I know it's been a long time since my last post. The world is in a much different space from when I last wrote on March 2nd. So am I. I hope and pray that all of you out there are safe and taking care of yourselves and your loved ones. Sorry that genealogy has kind of fallen by the wayside.  Please stay vigilant and wear your mask when you go out. Keep the hand sanitizer handy. Wash your hands. My 23andMe Results!

I took full advantage and ordered a test for my husband as well as one for myself. Well, my results came back late last week and I found them reaffirming and interesting all at the same time.  Image courtesy of 23andme Maternal Haplogroup Result: L3e3b In a prior post, My MtDNA Result Are Back! , I revealed the results of my first MtDNA test. I tested with FamilyTreeDNA last year and they determined that my Haplogroup was L3e3b. It was reassuring to see that 23andMe came up with the same result this time around. Okay....Here We Go! LOL.

Okay, I finally did it. I have been on an incredibly journey over almost two years searching for my ancestors and I kept telling myself, I needed to document this. You need to write this information down and document the process, not only what I learned about the people who came before me, but how I felt as I made these discoveries. How this whole process has affected my life has been absolutely incredible. Until I started searching, I was under the impression that I would never know anything about my lineage beyond my grandparents.
