Wordless Wednesday: Morehead City School Picture?



This picture is from my grandmother's family album. I think it is perhaps a school picture from the old Morehead City Negro school, but I don't know that for certain. On the back of it, Linwood Bryant's name is written on it. Linwood Bryant was my grand uncle, a sibling to my maternal grandmother Mary Horton. I am assuming the people who have x's on them were perhaps school friends or family. I have no idea who Mattie is in regards to family relations. In the front row, 3rd from the left there is a a boy with a star marked in ink on him and the word "boy" in front of him. Could this be Linwood? 

 Here's a picture of the Bryant siblings as adults. Linwood is in the center of the shot. What do you think?

    I think it is the same person. The face and the ears are the same.

I wanted to say hello to everyone. I know it's been a long time since my last post. The world is in a much different space from when I last wrote on March 2nd. So am I. My 23andMe Results!

I took full advantage and ordered a test for my husband as well as one for myself. Well, my results came back late last week and I found them reaffirming and interesting all at the same time.  Image courtesy of 23andme Maternal Haplogroup Result: L3e3b In a prior post, My MtDNA Result Are Back! , I revealed the results of my first MtDNA test. I tested with FamilyTreeDNA last year and they determined that my Haplogroup was L3e3b. It was reassuring to see that 23andMe came up with the same result this time around. Pink Invitational 2020

Here's pictures of our beautiful girl back from injury. In the fall, she broke a bone in her left foot which took a long time to heal. These are pictures from her second competition of the season, Pink Invitational 2020. She's getting stronger every week. I loved watching her compete and hanging out with her teammates. They are so supportive of one another. No medals this time for her but she gained a bunch of her confidence back.  She competed late on Saturday February 22, 2020 so that involved an overnight stay in Philadelphia. I don't like driving long distances at night especially if I'm tired. The following day we spent time sightseeing and checking out a Blick art supply store that was near our hotel. OMG! If you love doing art, then you love Blick!
