Anna Maria Island Vacation 2017 --Part Three
We've been back two weeks and I am just getting around to posting the rest of the pictures from our trip to Anna Maria Island, Florida.When I close my eyes and get real quiet, I find myself drifting back there. I am feeling the itch to get back to some painting. It's been a couple of months. My husband and I have been in the thick of competition season for both kids with their sports: soccer and gymnastics. It's been wonderful seeing them compete but part of me is longing for some quiet time at home so I can recoup my energy. I think I'll try and squeeze in some painting time after the kids head out for school in the morning. In the meantime, here's a couple of things I painted in the fall.
Week 6: Surprise What is something surprising that you've found in your research? What is a surprise that one of your ancestor's had? Have you found something in a surprising place?
Back in May of 2016, I was surprised to discover another child of my maternal 3rd great grandparents Cesar and Mary Jones. His name was Carolina Hauckins. He was born February 23, 1844 in Onslow County, NC enslaved to a man who's surname was "Hauckins or Hawkins" You can read more about how I discovered Carolina in these posts:
